AmeriCorps Central Texas (ACT) is a collaboration of nine local nonprofit organizations offering you a wide range of opportunities to create a better future for yourself and Central Texas through paid AmeriCorps service. As with serving in the military or Peace Corps, AmeriCorps lets you serve your local community, making it stronger and healthier.

Dell Medical School Health Sciences Summer Camps 4/1/2021
In response to COVID-19, the Health Sciences Summer Camps will occur virtually this summer. High school and middle school students will interact and learn from physicians, scientists and healthcare professionals. This year has highlighted the need to better understand the impacts of global events on our health and our communities. The camps will take a deeper look at how scientists and physicians are tackling these problems and how what the future of medicine might look. We are excited to be able to utilize the virtual learning space to bring experts from across the state and nation to speak with students at the camps. We look forward to another different, but amazing summer with you!

Rhodes College Summer Writing Institute - ONLINE for Summer 2021 4/1/2021
The Summer Writing Institute at Rhodes College takes place annually for two weeks during June and is a residential academic program committed to developing the critical thinking and writing skills of ambitious high school students. Within the college′s liberal arts environment, students sharpen their reading and analytical skills and learn strategies for writing creatively and critically. At the end of the session, students receive a grade for their work and class participation, earn two college credits (transferable to most colleges and universities), and will complete a portfolio of college-level writing.
